Not for the land locked

Friday

Oh boy, We just finished a week of school, and now we only have 3 days left in the semester. This is pretty sad for me, because I just started to enjoy my classes. Next semester my schedule is chock full of dull text book classes, with only my fellow freshmen, this is really gonna suck. Really, the only people worth talking to at this school are a few Juniors and Seniors, and maybe a sophomore or two.

So, I did have a nice Friday. Although I did have to ride the bus home, and walk home in the rain, but It was nice rain. So Lacey and I made carrot cake, ate burritos, and listened to Beat Happening at my house, and then our friend Jess picked us up and took us downtown for dinner. We have this really cool new fondue place in town. We met up with three more people, and got a few tables pushed together for our group. Needles to say, this place is great, we had Garlic cheese, and cheese fondue, and some dark chocolate, and mocha fondue. We also had a few 20oz. tea presses full of lavender and green tea. The atmoshire was very nice, a live jazz band, dimmed lights, and a lot of nice looking art. After dinner, Lacey's parents swooped her off home (don't worry, she comes back in later) and two other guests were taken by a cranky sister, and then there were three. Emma, Jess and I, spent an hour or so walking around down town ********* at night. At first, we just ran around, yelling for no reason, with no real destination in mind, then we tried getting people to run with us, this did not go well. Then we spent a good half hour roaming the alleys, being youthful, and doing silly things our elders may think inappropriate, whatever. Then we got a little tired, so we found a small plastic garbage can, played some drum beats, and did some interpretive dance. Somewhere in that time, somebody came out the back of a building to recycle or something, and encouraged us to "keep it up, its nice". Well, then I went home, where I met Lacey, who had been waiting patiently for about 20 minuets, watching TV with my mom, and waiting for me to come back. Then we listened to some records, watched High Fidelity, and went to bed.
Then this morning I woke us up with some happy Japanese ukulele music, and we greated the morning. Lacey had to go home soon, so we grabbed some choco tacos, and burritos, and drove around listening to a mix I had made, and now I'm here. Actually, I think I'm going back over to Lacey's in an hour or so, for, something.

In short

I have tried, yet definetly not mastered, speed-cooking. I helped my mom make 8 cherry pie tarts in less than 20 minutes (including baking time). It was insane, what a rush!

Eugene

I just had a fun-filled visit to the land of Eugene OR. I enjoyed the drive up, looking at the flooded golf courses and farms, and wishing about a million times over that I had my camera. I wanted to stop at "Johns SCANDALIZIAN Books and Gifts" in Junction City. At an intersection, there was a chicken on the road side strolling along, possibly wild, it wasn't paying much attention to cars. At a car lot in Junction city, someone was test driving one of the display trucks and so, instead of having "SALE" it said "ALE" It was just too great. Of all the trucks they needed to drive the one holding the "S". All of that was in Junction City.
My dad always makes fun of Eugenes disability to have organized areas. I don't know why he has to, its Lane county's problem, its just really funny. The reason we went to Eugene today was so my mom could get proper dancing shoes for her Contra dance tomorrow. We spent a half hour looking for this place called Backstage, and find it near an REI. The moment I walk in with my mom, I see these girls in all black with bold eyeshadow and stern faces. They giggled like demons! It only took me four seconds to realize how terribly snobby they were, also that they probably have made this store their alternate hangout to the school auditorium. It did look similar to a backstage. Being in that store made me feel uncomfortable, all of the girls in there looked at me as if I had no stage skills, and I don't really, and I think they were holding it against me. They avoided standing around the area I was. I don't understand stage kids.
On the way out of town we were stopped by a train and thus waited a while for it to pass, during this time a strange lady made a couple of unsure paths around the cars in front of us. She seemed incredibly lost, she'd start off one way and continue, stop, turn and go another way, repeat. She finally came up to the edge of the rail tracks and waited until it passed making quick sudden glances in the direction behind her. I watched her very closely mainly because there wasn't much else to do, but she was interesting.
And I recall forecasters had said this weekend was to be dry with maybe showers, but instead, today on the way home from Eugene it rained hard, without end.

Sorry

I didn't go to school today, for a few reasons.

I really haven't slept a lot the past two nights, last night I went to bed somewhat late, and got up at 4:30 a.m. to take my brother to the airport, and the other night, because, I guess I just was not tired.

Yes, We took my brother to the airport. He is going to Russia for 6 months, about half of that time he will be going to school there, taking classes in Russian, and the other part will be traveling willy-nilly on the Trans-Siberian railroad. For those of you who are interested in following that whole thing, here: http://austininrussia.blogspot.com/ , he is keeping a blog.

When we got back I was too tired and lazy to go to school, so I didn't. Instead, here I am blogging, I just watched High Fidelity, and now I'm gonna clean my room, and listen to records.

P.S. Sorry I'm not at Robotics Lacey.

Why is life great and not!?

This past week bit the dust a lot. There was an intense pep rally this week, and if you went to high school you may know how painful they are to bear. So I find Cielle sitting on the side of the bleachers designated to freshmen and then I say to her, "You want to sit under the bleachers?" and she's all, "Yeah!" So we sit under the bleachers while slutty cheerleaders dance and over-spirited seniors howl obscenities to the other grade levels. We looked through Cielle's Spin magazine, and picked page numbers and whoever was on that page that the person picked they were that person. I was Jack White at least twice. After not watching the pep rally we went to science. At lunch my ranch wheat thins became delicious additions to our sandwiches. Try it sometime!
Robotics on Wednesday wasn't as bad as expected; I found it to be hilarious. Every time we started a topic our leader head person, Jordan would go off on long discussions about other things, similar but not directly related to animation or robotics. It was great especially when somebody brought dinner for the team and everyone rushed in to grab some and a warm can of Mountain Dew. (so much dew, so much dew!) Eating dinner at school?! how sweet. After dinner we pretty much just sat around until we left, oh well, productivity never lasts.
Last week at this time we went to meet Shakeer, and his friends. I just have to note that that was fun, but now we wait 6 months before seeing him or them again. Or Austin, because he is heading to Russia for just as long.
I have to write an essay on social injustice and my topic is global warming, you're probably all like, "Global warming isn't real the government says not, idiot!" Yeah well I chose this topic because I love to rant about fake environmental issues. No really, it will kill us all.
Only two weeks left in this lame semester.

What you have all been waiting for

So, I have decided to write shorter, but more frequent (I hope), posts.

What you missed:
1)I celebrated Christmas, got some stuff.
2)Spent new years driving around desolate Oregon towns, enjoying snow, and drinking White Russians
3)Went to Portland a few times, once to visit our friend Shakeer
4)Did a lot of shit for Robotics

What I did today:
1)Made block prints in art class
2)Lost my mittens
3)Was asked repeatedly by my science teacher "do you think I'm stupid?"
4)Found my mittens
5)Had my iPod stolen
6)Went to piano lessons (ate a sandwich)
7)Went to a seminar, and listened to a designer talk about stuff (neat stuff)

Well, the iPod thing sucks, but I just found out that the OSU campus has just put up "traffic" signs with misc. smiley faces, FOR NO REAL REASON, other than to make me extremely happy!

Good Job

I think I've done alright holding up the weblog, you think?
Well, apparently if you read the comments on the last post you'd know it turned into a discussion about Oregon's Willamette Valley's weather, not so wonderous in winter. Not so wintery. Then again when we do get snow, school is cancelled, up side?
It began to snow in Sunriver which was good news to Cielle's family and Dr K (that guy is everywhere).
On New Years eve my brother went out with his friend Kevin possibly to drink, coffee, most assuredly he went to Sharies to hang with their employee friends, and be cool. Thats ok though, because he knows Navarre. I sat at home embroidering my skirt unitl the clock struck 12, the leap second had gone by, and all the fireworks that people had saved since July burst into the sky and crackled away. I got some 7 up with luau BBQ chips and New York Cheddar kettle chips, also some nutmeg liquor which was suprisingly delicious. The Pallini limoncello my mom got the other night, is disgusting though. Bittlerly strong.
As a way to pass the time onNew Years Day, I began a story using songs and CDs from bands on my ipod . Believe it or not it has a plot, revolving around the rapture.
Ehm.
Heres a snippet it isn't quite done yet, at all:

They made Orchestral Manoeuvers in the Dark while Bunker Soldiers in the crowd Almost made Electricity by Dancing. The Russian Futurists Of Montreal passed out Orange Juice and reminents of The Rasberries. The crowd awaited The Rapture. They weren't ready but they were expecting it, they had been told. The face in the crowd knew The Young Marble Giants and their Colossal Youth, who enjoy Cakewalking, and Eating Noddemix. They lived in The Taxi in south Dynelys, and were responsible for The Rapture.

We have to go back to school tomorrow and that bites.
