Vegas

I'm off.
Bye Cielle and everyone. Please enjoy yourself and I hope I am not forced into seeing a Celine Dion concert while there. It could be the closest to hell I'll ever get.

Two Things To Bitch About

So I was noticing...
I have been apologizing for, or have been shy about talking about my opinions about war lately.
I'm usually a little cautious about discussing things like war with people I don't know, just because I'm not really the confrontational type. But ever since I finished a number of books on the subject (it can be hard to read two books about two different wars at the same time), I became a little more squeamish about bringing the subject up. I can think of two recent examples:
1. While writing diacritical journals (just a fancy way of saying response journal), for the book "All Quiet On The Western Front", I found myself defending my opinion, so as not to offend my (almost certainly) right wing teacher.
2. While taking a survey about the Iraq war for a sociology assignment, I was very cautious in making sure no one saw what I was writing down, and when it came time to hand back my paper, I frantically searched for someone else's completed paper to put on time of mine, so as to avoid letting the girl who was administering the survey, see my responses (I swear I heard her say something about "crazy liberal wackos").
Its not that I am ashamed in any way by what I believe, I just like avoiding confrontation

Well anyhow, I'm leaving for Davis tomorrow, for a robotics tournament. On Thursday, Lacey will be going to the Belle & Sebastian show at the Roseland, and has yet to find someone to go with (anyone interested?).This is the end of a very long and confusing planning process. You see,
In the beginning, Lacey and I were going to go to Davis, then we heard about this B&S show, and we were like "We have to go", so we gave up the idea of Davis. When I went to buy Tickets to the show, they were sold out, so Lacey got the okay for us I to got to Davis. Then, through my cunning skill, I found someone with two extra tickets that would sell them to us for as much, if not less, than what they paid. So I made plans with these people to meet in Portland (at Powells) to get the tickets the same weekend we were up there for the Portland regional. This in itself was a hard enough task, but then when I got home I decided that I had a really good time in Portland and wanted to go to Davis. So I gave Lacey my ticket, and made arrangements to go to Davis. I had a hard time with these plans, but not as much as Lacey was (and still is) having with that extra ticket. We have gone through around five people who have said they could go, but then changed their minds. About half of these people Lacey and I don't even know. We have been turned down by a friend of a friend, the brother of a friend of a friend, and the neat kid in my french class I had a brief discussion with about B&S. So as of now, Lacey does not have a date, and I am going to have an eight hour car drive, with two kids on the robotics team that I don't really know, and then be the ONLY girl in Davis with all the guys, until the next day. I just can't win.

Sorry for not posting anything ever

We have had no time.

We will be making improvements on the site that may or may not be temporary. They will be on the way shortly, we hope.

Thanks
